Gridstore Scale-out Storage Platform

The worlds most advanced storage platform for SMBs.
The best technology is one you never see. It’s what you do not see that makes Gridstore so powerful.
Gridstore uses an advanced grid-processing platform to dramatically lower the cost of scale-out storage and make it available for the small-medium sized business. By leveraging distributed, parallel processing and parallel IO - Gridstore also increases the scale, performance and reliability without adding complexity. Now small-medium sized business can enjoy the benefits of scale-out storage without having to hire a storage guru or have an enterprise budget.
Reliability, scale, performance and cost drive buying decisions – but eliminating complexity drives ease of use. Gridstore offers both through advanced capabilities such seamless and instant capacity expansion and automatic self-healing from faults by simply adding a new storage node to your network. No complex RAID strategies, controller configurations or backplane networks with lists of certified switches. Just advanced technology that works so you don’t have to.
Gridstore Platform – Two Parts: Virtual Controller and Management Console
The Gridstore Platform is the intelligent software behind a gridstore. It consists of two separate software components. The Gridstore Core is the system software that controls the storage resources in the gridstore. The Gridstore Console is the administration interface to the Gridstore Core. To learn more about the Gridstore Core technology, see Gridstore Technology.
Gridstore Console - Microsoft Management Console Snap-in
Designed for the SMB Network Admin. You run IT. You need the tools at your finger tips and integrated.
Now, there’s a new tool in your tool box that provides seamless integration with existing Microsoft tools and resources so you can manage your network from a single pane with familiar tools.
RAIDg Level - Dial-in Fault Tolerance.
No complex RAID controller configuration. When you create a volume, dial in the number of faults you want that volume to be able to handle without disruption or data loss. This ensures your storage system can run nonstop even if multiple nodes failed simultaneously.
Thin Provisioned Volumes
Gridstore volumes are thin provisioned so you can “reserve” capacity for particular uses – without having to add that capacity upfront. And when it is needed, you can simply add blocks of storage to your pool to meet the capacity demands. The result is better capacity utilization and dollars saved up front.
Quotas
Quotas can be set at the volume or folder level to give you increased control over storage utilization for particular purposes.
Active Directory Support
Gridstore integrates seamlessly with your existing AD users, groups and structures to ensure there is no duplicated work or information that needs to be synced. AD resources are granted access to volumes you create on your gridstore which are then actively enforced through your domain controllers / Windows security. Access control continues to be managed in one place to make your job easier.
One Click Distribution
By controlling access to your gridstore through Active Directory, the Gridstore Core is automatically deployed via group policies to eliminate the need to distribute software to desktops. Fine grain control is also provided to install on to specific machines such as when servers operate for D2D backup or video surveillance as an example. All clients can be distributed and managed through the Gridstore Console.
Alerts
Real time alerts can be set to warn Administrators of any problems that require attention. Alerts can be sent be email or through WMI to Windows based Network Monitoring Consoles. Alerts can also be configured to be sent to remote monitoring and management systems operated by Managed Service Providers.
Performance Monitors
Provide real time performance visibility down to the node level if you need to diagnose any issues.
Out-of-Band Operation
The Gridstore Console operates out-of-band from the Gridstore Core. The Console is only required to perform management tasks. Administrators have access to the Gridstore Console from the same tool box (MMC Snap-in) and from any place in the network they would normally have their network management tools.
Remote Management
The Gridstore console is fully available over remote connections and has been designed specifically for Managed Service Providers to manage multiple clients through the same interface.
