The Shift workstation is the ideal goods-to-person solution for warehouses with low to medium throughputs of up to 150 bins per hour, where direct and flexible provision of products at the workstation is crucial.
Unlike the Orbit workstation, the Shift also enables the direct handling, removal and storage of bins.
The robots retrieve bins from the grid and place them at the shift workstation, where the goods are stored or retrieved or the bin is removed directly and then returned to the system. With this capacity, the Shift workstation ensures a constant, efficient material flow so that work processes run smoothly, saving time.
Shift-Arbeitsplatz
Flexible connection to AMR and conveyor technology for fully automated processes
The Shift workstation offers a versatile connection option to autonomous mobile robots (AMR) and external conveyor technology, which enables fully automated storage and retrieval. Bins can be loaded in the goods receiving area, placed on pallets and loaded at the Shift workstation. In order picking, they are also delivered to their destination manually or using conveyor technology or AGVs.
These interfaces ensure that bins can be moved seamlessly between different systems without manual intervention. This enables smooth, fully automated processes to be implemented, optimising the material flow in the warehouse and reducing the number of personnel required.

Does the Shift suit you perfectly?
We will be happy to advise you on how best to integrate the Shift workstation into your Gridstore system.
Can be flexibly integrated on all sides of the system
The Shift workstation offers unbeatable flexibility in terms of design and positioning within the Gridstore system. It can be integrated on either side of the grid, which enables both transverse and longitudinal queuing of the bins.
These versatile positioning options allow the Shift workstation to be customised precisely to the spatial conditions and specific requirements of your warehouse. This ensures optimum ergonomics and efficiency at the workstation, while the material flow takes place exactly where it is needed.
Ergonomic design for better working conditions
The Shift workstation is specially designed for an optimum working height so that bins are delivered at this height. This minimises physical strain caused by bending or lifting and ensures efficient and comfortable working.
Thanks to this ergonomic design, the Shift workstation supports employees' health and contributes to greater employee satisfaction and efficiency - a clear advantage for companies that focus on productive and sustainable workplaces.
Frequently asked questions about your Shift workstation
What throughput volumes is the Shift workstation suitable for?
The Shift workstation is ideal for low to medium throughputs and can process up to 150 bins per hour. This makes it particularly suitable for warehouses where flexible and efficient provision of goods at the workstation is required. For quantities of over 150 bins per hour, we recommend our Orbit workstation.
How does the Shift workstation differ from the Orbit workstation?
The most important difference lies in the direct removal option: With the Shift workstation, bins can be directly removed and returned to the system, which offers additional flexibility. The Orbit workstation does not allow this. In addition, the two workstations differ in their throughput of max. 150 bins for the Shift and max. 400 bins for the Orbit.
Where can the Shift workstation be placed in the grid?
The Shift workstation is available in two widths and can be flexibly integrated on all sides of the grid, allowing transverse and longitudinal queuing of the bins.
